Intro 01:13
"The term sound can denote the physical phenomenon of vibrations that set into motion longitudinal waves of compression and rarefaction propagated through molecular structures such as gas liquids, and solids; the physiological phenomenon that stimulates the sense of hearing; or the psychophysical perception of sound stimuli." "Sound begins when an object vibrates and sets into motion molecules in the air closest to it. These molecules pass on energy to adjacent molecules, starting a reaction-a sound wave-which is much like the waves that result when a stone is dropped in a pool. The transfer of momentum from one displaced molecule to the next propagates the original vibrations longitudinally from the vibrating object to the hearer. What makes this reaction possible is air or more precise, a molecular medium with the property of elasticity. Elasticity is the phenomenon in which a displaced molecule tends to pull back to its original position after its initial momentum has caused it to displace nearby molecules."

Little Birdie What makes you think you can sing? Is that shrill little noise Really making all the boys Think you’re really just the greatest bird around Little Birdie What makes you think you can fly? When you spread your wings up there Will you stay up in the air? Or will you crash and burn like all the others think But they don’t care They just came here for a show You are such a pretty bird, but it’s such a petty word Filled with emptiness and nothing left to share Little Birdie What makes you think you can mate? Do you really think your looks Put you at the top of books In the the list of birds desirable to love Little Birdie You know you're such a pretty bird But you think you’re so much more And that makes you such a bore Wait till you step out your nest and see the truth Cause they don’t care To them you’re just another bird And though you look as though you’re fine You are dying deep inside But no one knows or really cares just how you feel But I know the truth about you And I want to try to understand And there are times when I wish to make you see But when you say those empty words Who to the friends of yours it hurts You make me feel as though it’s all your own design Cause I don’t care To me you’re just a fading light And when that candle gets the snuff It will finally be enough And you will leave us all alone and in our peace of mind And it’s not fair The others look as though they know And even though their words are empty I wish they were directed at me Cause I get nothing, which is even emptier still

You can criticize me And tell me I’m all wrong And you can just ignore me But you can’t shut me down And you can try and tell me That I’m wasting your time But I know that you’re all wrong You just want me to fall, so just get Off of my back, off of my case, out of my side Over yourself, over your funk, out of my face And I I won’t believe your lies The ones you use to hide The prize I know is mine And you You may not understand But I don’t care Get out of my way Out of my sight Out of life I know I have to try Now I know there’s a big world Of those who think I’m nothing You think you know the answers? Well, let me tell you something You have spent your whole life Wishing you were more, so don’t you Say what I want, say what I need I’ll say what I please And I I won’t believe your lies The ones you use to hide The prize I know is mine And you You may not understand But I don’t care Get out of my way Out of my sight Out of life I know I have to try

Stall 05:00
If I could see my reflection (in your eyes) Cure my misdirection (in your eyes) Yet they’re averted from my gaze The message lost Tell me what it is you want now (no more lies) No more hinting at your point how (no more lies) I know your messages, but how much do you believe them? Do you see this like I do? Cause all we do is try to stall And every time we walk in circles trying not to fall Spinning round to find out where it ends Oh, why must we pretend? It’s floating to the surface slow (in your eyes) All the feelings I'm afraid to show (in your eyes) Yet denial twists the message, crumpling up the paper And it’s gone I’ve nothing left to prove to you (no more lies) Blind to all that I have tried to do (no more lies) Wasting time on words that fail to reach your ears Yet I’m still talking now, and you don’t hear a word All my pain is shoved between the cracks I know that I should run, but I know that I’d look back Glances words and forms Churning in the storm Yet the bitter taste, it keeps me sober now Words well up inside my heart Burst the seams and tear apart Scream inside me asking why “Why won’t these words just hang and die?” Cause all I do is try to stall And every time I walk in circles trying not to fall Tripping over messages we send Oh, why must we pretend?
